At a 10-minute walk the Alhambra and Generalife (summer palace of the Moorish kings). A short walk through the beautiful streets and we can see a impressive Renaissance cathedral. There is a particularly beautiful chapel next to the cathedral: the royal chapel where the Catholic Monarchs Isabella and Ferdinand are buried and Joanna the Mad and Philip the Handsome as well. The Albaycin and the Sacromonte, Gypsy neighborhoods, are not far from here. They live in beautiful white sheds in which the flamenco music and dance make every evening a pleasure for all visitors.

On a 30-minute ride by car you can reach Sierra Nevada, the more southern ski resort of Europe, and the Alpujarras, a region known by its small white villages and the beauty of its mountains. The best Serrano ham is the one that are dried there. Another 55-minute drive and you can enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean sea.
